Solar Battery

A solar battery stores the power collected by solar panels for use later. They are rechargeable, meaning that they can be filled and drained many times before they lose their ability to store energy. The most common form is the lithium ion battery that is common to many electronic devices. These batteries are long lasting, so long as they are never completely drained.

Since solar power systems are usually an augmentation to regular power, it is easy to set up your system to prevent it from completely tapping out your solar batteries. You simply arrange to have a charge monitor on the batteries coupled with relays that cut them out of the feed when the charge reaches a certain floor value.

Doing this will prolong the life of your solar batteries and ensure that your system operates to its full potential throughout its lifetime. Part of the appeal of solar power is that it doesn’t incur maintenance costs on the same level of other power sources. The fuel finds its way into the system free of charge, and as long as the system maintains working order, it equals out to a zero cost after initial setup. Simple steps such as battery cut outs will ensure that the parts of your system do not wear out before their time and keep your investment sound. A solar battery charger is required to charge your solar battery.
